The uNMUKT Green Army

Joining the Fridays for Future movement, in an inspiring display of solidarity, people of Bhubaneswar from all walks of life came together to make the Global Climate Protest Bhubaneswar happen and raise issues of Climate Inaction. 

 While the month of May 2019, especially post Cyclone Fani, was spent in tree restoration work round the city of Bhubaneswar, where The Green Army restored more than 2000 trees, plantation has taken center stage since June 2019. 

 For  the various plantation programs this year in collaboration with schools  and other organizations, Unmukt Foundation has had a clear, focused  approach - "WE aren't going to plant saplings in YOUR campus. With our  help, YOU will plants saplings in YOUR own campus. 

 Starting  from just 3 people to make Bhubaneswar green again, The Green Army  (TGA) had 120+ Green Warriors by the end of this 15-days drive. Words  were spread through various social media platforms like Facebook,  Instagram, etc.
