Founder and CEO

Shweta’s lifelong passion and obsession are environment and education. She is living her passion through her work at Unmukt Foundation. Before dedicating her life to Unmukt, Shweta used to be a successful architect focusing on healthcare architecture. For the last three years she’s been doing very little architecture related work with all of it focused upon bamboo, mud and sustainable architecture. Her goal in life today, is to create an Ecoversity – a University dedicated to ecological study, awareness and research. She imagines a world where every child is educated with care, according to his or her unique needs, where each child is encouraged to do what he or she is good at, where creativity and curiosity are encouraged, where environmental consciousness is embedded into life and not just as a minor chapter.  

Trustee & Mentor

An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Lucknow, Prof. Mishra specializes in the domain of digital marketing. At Unmukt, he guides the team in taking strategic decisions to make the most out of the various programs. Surya has been teaching Marketing for the last 8 years at KIIT School of Management. He was one of the first people to start a course on Digital and Social Media Marketing in the country in 2011. Before joining KIIT, Prof. Mishra gave shape to brands like Fiama Di Wills, Vivel and Superia as a brand manager in ITC Limited and later worked as a  sales manager in Nokia. 

Trustee and Operations Head

A dentist by profession, a dancer, an artist and a singer by passion, Suprava loves to work with kids and teaches dance to kids whenever she gets time from her hectic, over demanding profession. She organizes and takes part in health camps for underprivileged people. Suprava has a long-term dream to open her clinic in a village and settle there with her family. Associated with Unmukt right from the outset, Suprava has been a pillar of support and strength for the basti children. 

Advisor

An alumnus of NIT Rourkela and IIM Kozhikode, Sourav has worked with leading companies like Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), and 3d PLM Software Solutions (parent Dassault Systèmes). A Harry Potter fan, Sourav is an avid reader, with particular interest in fantasy, science fiction, history, and nature writings of Ruskin Bond. Sometimes, he indulges in writing short stories. To paraphrase Hermione Granger, Sourav is hoping to do some good in the world. 

Mentor

Graduated from University of California, Berkley. Educational Consultant and Trainer, Learning Guide, Soft Skills Trainer, Research Consultant, and Community Organizer, Jordy is currently engaged in educational training in China. He has been our constant mentor on all our educational programs including running of the Creativity Center. 

Research Lead and Facilitator

An alumna of Delhi University and KIIT, where she completed her post-graduation in Sociology with a Dual Specialization and received a Gold Medal. She has worked with various social sector organizations in roles related to content development, teaching, and policy research. She holds the Rajya Puraskar in Bharat Scouts and Guides and has experience teaching foundational English and basic Math to children. She is currently a member of Chatham House’s Common Futures Conversations (CFC) and the Young India Climate Consortium (YICC) under UNICEF.

Intern

Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and purpose, Monali believes in breaking barriers and building inclusive opportunities. Her journey has been shaped by a the question asked by Shweta about life, purpose and action have played a key role in expanding her view on society, people and it's impact. Whether through strategic planning, mentorship, or hands-on engagement, she strive to make a lasting difference.  Inspired by the resilience of the communities they serve, Monali continues to work toward a future where she feels complete with new doubt and new challenges to tackle.

English Facilitator

The sad demise of her father prompted a desire in her to make a lasting positive impact and encouraging empathy and focus on making a difference and healing the world. Deeply dedicated and passionate about her work, she is committed to serving children from underserved communities. 

English and Mathematics Facilitator

An alumna of Berhampur University, has recently joined Unmukt as a Facilitator. With a profound interest in the teaching profession, Rashmita is dedicated to inspiring and educating students. Her passion for teaching and commitment to fostering a love for learning in her students make her a valuable addition to the Unmukt team.

Art and Mathematics Facilitator

An alumnus of BK College of Fine Art, has as his domain of interest creative art. At Unmukt, as an art facilitator, he passionately teaches children the art of creatively expressing oneself through art. Previously, his artwork has been selected to for display at the prestigious Lalit Kala Art Academy. He has also been awarded various state-level awards. Currently excelling in oil paints and water colour, he has set his eyes over gaining experience and triumphing over style of contemporary art.

 A renowned environmentalist, 2020 Padma Shri awardee, Nari Shakti awardee, and a post graduate in Rural Development from Gandhigram, Tamilnadu, Sabarmatee has been engaged in conservation of natural resources with focus on gender issues since 1997 through Sambhav, her own NGO and a 96 acres barren land turned to forest. An ex-employee of Oxfam India, she has been felicitated with the Odisha Living Legend 2015 award and Impact Woman Award - Business Today 2018. Sabarmatee guides us in all our environmental initiatives

 Vijay has been working as a financial consultant and is on the verge of retirement from his professional life. He spends most of his time playing and encouraging kids to do things differently. Vijay has a very unique way to see life and being the senior most person in the team, he guides us in getting past dilemmas and unresolvable issues.
