“Unmukt, meaning azaad, free,
unleashed – is meant to challenge the little boxes we have confined ourselves, and our children to. Unmukt intends
to break open all such boxes, and give free reign to our dreams”
Unmukt—oon·mukt, from the Sanskrit “उन्मुक्त,” meaning released, liberated, free—is a registered, Bhubaneswar-based, non-profit organization serving children from under-served communities. Unmukt is born from a single truth: boxes are for things, not for children. On Unmukt’s very first day, we asked the children about their dreams. One said he wanted to be a lift operator like his uncle. Another, astonishingly, said, “I want to be a thief.” Today, those same children build remote-control robots. They dance before crowds of 500+ without flinching, lead plastic-free campaigns, and talk about change like it’s already underway. At the heart of this transformation is PEACE—our holistic learning model that nurtures Physical, Emotional, Academic, Creative Development, and Environmental Action, rooted in the ancient wisdom that children are body, mind, and soul—and each part must be nourished for a child to truly thrive
We are looking for young, open-minded, and fun-loving individuals passionate about education and innovative thinking. If you're ready for long-term commitment and enjoy working with a creative, diverse team, we want to hear from you! 🎉
